GutomAko is a simple tool designed to help indecisive eaters find nearby restaurants. We use open data to find what's open around you, filter by delivery or dine-in, and pick a random winner!
Under the Hood
GutomAko is built with modern web technologies to be fast, free, and privacy-focused.
- Smart Map ProviderWe default to Google Maps for the best experience. heavily rate-limited to prevent costs! If our daily quota is reached (or for heavy users), we automatically switch to the free OpenStreetMap to keep the service sustainable.
- Data Accuracy & LimitationsOpenStreetMap Data is sourced from OpenStreetMap volunteers. Opening hours, restaurant existence, and names estimate reality but may be outdated or incorrect (especially during holidays). We are not responsible for closed restaurants or "hangry" moments!
- OpenStreetMapRestaurant data and maps provided by OpenStreetMap contributors. We use the Overpass API to fetch live data about opening hours and delivery options. We are also exploring Google Places API integration for even richer data in the future!
- Client-Side GeocodingYour location searches are handled securely via Nominatim and processed instantly in your browser.
